Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah expressed his delight at India's designation as the host country for the prestigious 2029 World Police and Fire Games, calling it a moment of immense pride for every citizen. In a post on the X platform, he emphasized that this recognition is a significant achievement for the nation.
Shah noted that winning the opportunity to host this event is a testament to the global recognition of India's extensive sports infrastructure developed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The selection of Ahmedabad as the venue, which will bring together police, fire, and disaster services to compete in over 50 sports, highlights the city's growing stature as a sports destination. Previously, Gujarat secured the rights to host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG), which will take place in the state capital, Ahmedabad, along with Gandhinagar and Ekta Nagar.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took to the X platform to share his joy over the successful bid. He stated, "India has won the bid to host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Ekta Nagar after a comprehensive presentation before the WPFG Federation in Birmingham, USA."
